Arthur Hayes, the billionaire co-founder of BitMEX, is redirecting his focus from cryptocurrency derivatives to the burgeoning field of longevity science. Fresh off a presidential pardon by Donald Trump in March, Hayes has taken a board seat and significant equity stake in an undisclosed stem cell company, where he has also been undergoing treatments for over a year at clinics in Mexico and Bangkok.

"I want to live as long as possible, as healthy as possible," Hayes told reporters, highlighting his personal investment in the sector. He noted that regulatory barriers for stem cell therapies are loosening globally, creating fertile ground for growth.

Hayes joins a growing list of crypto luminaries funneling digital asset wealth into life-extension ventures. Vitalik Buterin has funded anti-aging research through the SENS Foundation, while Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong co-founded NewLimit, a cellular reprogramming startup that secured $130 million in funding this year.
